About Esohe Weyden
Esohe Weyden (1999) is a spoken word poet, presenter, and law student from Antwerp. With her honest pen, she endeavors to articulate how she navigates the duality of her thoughts and life in search of connection. Driven to find the right words and speak the most fluid sentences, her sole objective is to describe what we all carry within us.
In addition to the various stages she has already graced (Stadsschouwburg, Vooruit, Pukkelpop, Gentse Feesten, De Roma), she is also the regular host of "Mensen zeggen dingen" in Antwerp and Gent. She is also one of the city reporters for ATV, primarily covering art and culture in the city.
In 2018, she was included in the authors' list of Literature Flanders.
In 2019, she was elected Laureate of the Arts and received one of the Cultural Awards for meritorious residents of Deurne. She was also a finalist in the Belgian Championship Slam Poetry 2018 and won several local poetry slams.
Since 2021, she has been the Campus Poet of the University of Antwerp, treating us to a monthly dose of poignant poetry.
