Comedy workshop April 17th with Niamh Moroney aka @bigtitcomedy !

Have you always wanted to try stand up comedy? Do you think you have a funny bone?
Or a message you want to send into the world in a humorous way? Well now is your chance!

Come join Rubi on April 17th for a two hour introductory workshop to writing stand up comedy!
Don’t worry if you are shy to talk in front of people - this is not required.

What to expect?

  • We will discuss what kind of personality you might want to portray on stage and why.
  • We will cover some joke writing formulas, and look at examples.
  • We will run some themed writing exercises and then attempt some free writing on topics of your choice too!

At the end if someone wants, they are welcome to perform their jokes for the group but this is NOT obligatory.
There will also be a Q&A so you can pick Niamh’s brains about her career in comedy and event production.

About Niamh

Niamh has been a funny person since 2015 when she started touring with her one woman theatre show YER WAN.
Niamh’s Edinburgh debut PULLED, a theatrical comedy spectacular, resulted in a sell out run and four star reviews with the Edinburgh Cultural Review calling the show “comedic chaos”.

Now on a solo journey into the world of stand up, Niamh is a known MC in Brussels for her work with Insecure & Dangereux. In 2023 Niamh headlined the United Nations of Comedy event at the BOOM CHICAGO comedy festival in Amsterdam, and was also recently hailed to have “the longest tit joke heard in comedy”- Drew Marks. Expect topics such as sex, death, and incest to arise in Niamh’s sets. Her crass sense of humour is not for the faint of heart.

Having taught theatre and drama for many years in both Ireland and Belgium, Niamh has taught creative writing to all ages for over 10 years. Workshops of note; Bookville Creative Writing Festival, and AKA Fringe festival.

Niamh is one of the founders of the Brussels open mic stand up comedy scene and is passionate about growing the scene by developing new writers, producers, and performers.
